Let DIY Theatre Company take you on a magical journey into the forest

We are going to follow the trees
Into the woods, Into the woods
Full of wonder, what will we see?
Into the woods, into the woods

Our multi-sensory performance Hanging by a Thread is our third show specifically designed for sensory audiences.

Created by our skilled company of artists with learning disabilities, the show invites intimate audiences to connect with, and care about, our natural world. Pre and post show workshops explore the themes of nature connectedness and environment through the senses.

Interactive theatre, songs, live music, puppets and sensory props combine to create a magical experience for each audience member. Because the theme of environment is so central to the show costumes and props were re-purposed or made from recycled materials by our designer Nerissa Cargill Thompson. Puppeteer Beka Haigh worked with us to create some wonderful puppets for the performance and musicians Sarah Atter and Sophie Coward worked with the team to create original live music for the show.

Hanging by a Thread – Resources:

We have produced a 12 page downloadable social story for the show which you can download for free by clicking here.

DIY Associate Artist, Nerissa Cargill Thompson also created a series of visual arts resources for this show, which you can see and download for free by clicking here.
