Exploring LEx Leadership – film

DIY Leaders are Leaders with Lived Experience. But what does that really mean?

We made a film called ‘Exploring LEx Leadership’

In this film DIY Leaders with lived experience of learning disability explore what lived experience means to them and how their experiences of social issues help them to be good leaders. The film was created by our Leadership Group with professional film-maker Hilary Easter-Jones.

The ‘Exploring LEx Leadership’ film follows the group’s process of exploring Lived Experience through drama activities and visual art. It explores different kinds of leadership, including non-verbal demonstration, and outlines some of the many ways members demonstrate their leadership including working in schools and colleges, training medical students and creating films to encourage people with learning disabilities to get online.
