Emerging Artist Training & Development

DIY Theatre Company is looking for new Emerging Artists. We are developing our pool of freelance creative practitioners as we expand our work with Adults and Young People with Learning Disabilities.

We are offering a free full day’s training on Shared Leadership and Inclusive Practice, with DIY company members.

This will take place on: Friday 3rd October 2025, from 10.30am to 2pm

at: The Angel Centre, 1 St. Philips Place, Salford, M3 6FA.

Following this, Emerging Artists will be given the opportunity to shadow DIY sessions, work alongside company members, and receive bespoke 1:1 mentoring from DIY practitioners and our Access Coordinator. You will subsequently be given the opportunity to be added to our pool of Associate Artists and Supporters.

All of DIY’s work is based on a model of co-creation.

We are a dedicated team of freelance professionals working with groups of highly motivated and highly creative young people and adults with learning disabilities.

On the left, a woman with white hair smiles and gestures with her hand near her mouth, dressed casually in a striped top, beige trousers, and a dark cardigan. On the right, a woman wearing a headscarf, purple T-shirt, and red dungarees strikes a lively pose with one hand pointing upward, exuding energy and joy in a bright, welcoming room with colourful artwork on the walls.
