Thanks to everyone who helped us Fill the Space! at our recent ‘At Home’ event. In fact we need to apologise for the tight squeeze getting everyone in! We had a great afternoon and learned a lot from each other.

Energy, fun, depth Visitor feedback on event.

The afternoon was cram packed:

Musicians Hannah McCabe and Eve Harrison introduced some of the live music approaches they have been exploring with the company over the past few months

DIY BUDS shared some of the drama and music work they have been doing on the theme of “communication”. DIY BUDS meet every Thursday afternoon at Langworthy Cornerstone and will continue  to work on this theme when they start back again after the Easter break.

Disability doesn’t stop people achieving anything they want to do. Visitor feedback on what they took away from the event.

This was followed by a performance of our current show Give Me Space! with an explanation of how it has been designed especially to appeal to audiences of young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. Some of our visitors came into the performance circle and were able to experience the multi-sensory and interactive elements of the show first hand. This included snowballs and sun tan lotion and journeying through the space clouds.

“A wonderful inclusive session. The music works incredibly well.” Visitor feedback

We celebrated the launch of our new website and talked about some of our future plans including practitioner training and a conference. There was a lot of interest in our Sharing the Space! training event aimed at drama workers and other creative practitioners.
